We have brought our 15 months old male Rottweiler (Bear Grylls) only 5 times to iron out a potential problem with him and the results have been spectacular. After the second visit the improvements were dramatically obvious, after four visits, your patient and knowledgeable training resulted in him being confident, willing and very obviously enjoying his work with you. The tasks you set us to carry out at home were easy to understand, for both humans and our dog and we all made terrific progress. There was a clear framework for us to follow and, almost best of all, the sessions were great fun! 'Bear' loves coming to you every week and we have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for your kindness and your expertise.
It has improved his behaviour enormously. Snoopy really loved coming to the classes each week. Class size was just right. My dog needed to mix with other dogs and learn to be calmer. He still gets excited when he goes for his walks!
Class size was just right. Classes were made interesting. Temperment training was a big help to us both. Nice to start on something and continuously build on that each week. Very approachable and friendly. Built confidence with us to handle our dog in many everyday situations.
It was a good size class. Grahame the trainer had a lot of patience. I found the course to be absolutely brilliant and informative for all (pets and owners).
Class size was just the right size allowing everyone to participate and get help from the trainer. The class made Lightening a lot more managable and responsive to commands.
The class size is perfect. I didn't know what to expect but I achieved what I wanted. Friendly and encouraging. The guidance has been invaluable and Barca is infinitely nicer to walk.
I think that the class size was just right and friendly. After 8 weeks of training, Pepe had made good progress and was more confident especially being around bigger dogs.
Amazing patient training. I would highly recommend to all. Highly recommend training techniques. As an ex army dog handler I've been taught new skills.
Nelson has learnt so much in 8 weeks. From barking constantly on week one to now doing all the things expected of him! The transformation has been amazing! And he's still only a baby. Very impressed with the content and training received. Thank you!
It has been a really good experience. Grahame is both kind to dog and owner and Pickle has really come on well. Pickle responded really well to this course and I've noticed the difference in her responses to me at home. Class size is just about right for us and we have discovered that Pickle loves to play with other dogs even if its in the middle of class.
Gus and I enjoyed the classes. I found I actually that a 1-2-1 lesson was the greatest help. He is now very much more obedient. I thought the venue was fine. I soon realized that I needed the training not the dog.
Misty responded very well to training. I now have a better behaved dog who listens to me and obeys my commands. A great course. A patient instructor. The class size was jut right, plenty of space in the hall.
After browsing the web and getting a few quotes, I decided to try NDTS as their rates were reasonable, they said they were flexible, and they offered aggression training on a 1 to 1 basis.
I met with Grahame and he was immediately very friendly and understanding. His training is very well explained and within the hour my dog was responding far better than I could have hoped. Grahame gave me info and a training plan to continue with outside of the training and had stocks of the leads available that we had used that day.
I have since returned for another lead for my other dog and the training plan is going fantastically - my aggressive dogs can now walk straight past other dogs and I am no longer afraid to go out to dog parks etc.
Grahame has also emailed me for updates on my training and has offered more information and advice when needed at no extra charge.
I wholly recommend NDTS and if anyone asks for dog training in future, I will pointing them straight to Grahame without a moments hesitation!
I loved the structure, how we knew what to do, what wsa coming and homework. Loved having the paperwork at the end of the class so we could check back at home as to what we should be doing. Really excellent course.
We would recommend Norwich Dog Training School to anyone who has aquired a dog. The training will give you a happy and well behaved friend. Grahame talked to us through the different stages in a way which was informative and easy to follow.
Training was friendly and informative. Excellent all round and I would highly recommend it. Class size and venue were good. Trainer was friendly and accomodating. All excellent.
A really good course for any dog. Good for puppy socialisation. Well worth the money. Sad it had to end. The course went really quickly. Wee Brian loved it and knew when it was Friday. Thank you to both of you.
Good size class as dogs get bored while waiting but it is good practice for them. Blue very much enjoyed the course and we would be interested in a refresher session
Small classes, individual help, fun and laughter, what more could you ask for? The dogs are made to feel special and so are the owners. Every dog improved when I attended. Would definitely recommend to any dog owner who wants the best for their dog.
Grahame & Sarah are on "top form" - with their skills, the venue and the course set up and structure. We enjoyed every minute. We will miss our Friday night training but will definitely be coming back. Thank you both very much..from Elsa & Ana
Amazing trainer, so knowledgeable and great with my dogs.
I originally went to Grahame with my terrier Marley, who had nervous aggressive issues, he's now turned a leaf and I feel so much more confident handling Marley and knowing how to handle his issues, and when a situation arises, I know what to do.
I also now take my large hound/bull mix Skye to the obedience sports training at the weekends, she is loving it and building confidence and focus really nicely and growing to be an amazing dog.
I highly recommend Grahames training as he's firm but kind with all the dogs and shows good direction both to the dogs and me as the owner, I've learnt so much already in these 1st few weeks I hope to stay on training with the club and to compete in the future with my dogs.
Thankyou again for all your time, knowledge and patients x
Before starting this class, Monty was uncontrolable around other dogs and when meeting people. After the class Monty is now much calmer and I'm more confident in meeting people out in the street. I loved the class size and how the trainer tailored the class to each dog and owner. The only downside was the hall floor was a little slippery (paw wax was available to use to prevent sliding around. I wish that the classes were longer.
I signed up for this course for basic understanding and training techniques and have come away from the course with a lot more. Grahame & Sarah have gone out of their way in terms of researching techniques for my dogs breed which was massively appreciated. All of the dogs that took part in the 8 week course have made amazing progress. Class size was perfect - not too many dogs. Venue was appropriate - large indoor area aswell as an outside area. Grahame & Sarah were very friendly and helpful.
We both loved the dog training. It's absolutely brilliant. Piggy is now all I could ask for. Thank you so much! 5 Star dog training. I will recommend you to family member and friends.
Training was excellent. My dog has improved 100% with his training. Grahame was patient, constant and very amenable. With Thunder being a rescue dog, he was totally untrained an I would not have been able to cope without this training. I liked the friendliness and understanding of Grahame. His love of dogs is obvious whether you have a big or small dog. I would refer anyone to NDTS for their dog training.
Great class Grahame. We really valued this class, weekly information sheets are a great help. Sarah's ginger biscuits are to die for!! Great venue and size of class 10/10. Fantastic Grahame, really enjoyed this basic training class. It has helped us lots. Grahame loves what he does and it shows in buckets - many thanks!
Brilliant, excellent trainer & course. Would recommend this to anyone. Thank god we found Grahame. Loved the course, met great people & dogs alike. Thank you to Sarah for all the tea & biscuits.
The course was informative, confidence building and above all great fun! Totally recommended...Grahame your calm confidence is simply brilliant! Thank you for everything.
Really good - excellent, patient training and we've really made a start with his obedience - Superb!!! The refreshments are excellent too. Venue & class size is good. Grahame's patience and relaxed manner really made us feel at ease and the techniques really work!
This course taught me so much more than I thought it would. It has given me the confidence to handle and train a lively 15 month old German Shepherd, and she has made huge strides in the 8 weeks. I would recommend Grahame to anyone wanting a truly excellent trainer.
The venue was just right - plenty of room, also the space outside was good. The class size was perefect - we got plenty of attnetion. One of the most important thing for me was that Grahame gave ME confidence. Thank you.
I booked the beginners course for my 3 month old Labrador called Darcy. The course was with 5 other Dogs of varying different ages but they all got along fine.Graham is an excellent trainer and is really great with the dogs and also the owners! Nothing to intense but Darcy picked it up almost instantly and week by week she understood the commands and did them immediately.By the end of the course she had mastered SIT,Down and even walked to HEEL which is no mean feat for a young dog.Graham keeps it light hearted and I would recommend him and the training to any young dog as she seemed to pick it up quicker than the older ones.I wouldn't hesitate in recommending NDTS and give them 5 stars.
The classes gave me so much confidence with 'Hector'. Grahame promoted clear, high expectations. 'Hector' gave me eye contact which was a first, and I could actually 'feel' him learning. I think its really strengthened our bond. 'Hector' enjoyed coming to the classes and I'd like to do more - Great!
The class size was perfect - not too much waiting about, hence 'Hector' was engaged and ready to work. Very friendly, relaxed but FOCUSED approach. The venue was good, particularly the outside space. I think Grahame inspired confidence and gave me so much knowledge, so 'Hector' achieved more than I ever though he could which is brilliant. I appreciated the clear expectations and there's so much more on offer going forward with Norwich Dog Training School.
A brilliant course for beginners; the difference between week one and the end was beautiful to see. All dogs had progressed and performed better than expected. Our dog 'river' (GSD) has become more attentive and will now listen, wait and walk nicely alongside us. Thank you so much for all your help.
The class was small which I liked, as there was more one to one training. Jenson responded very well to the other dogs and instructions from Grahame. I liked that we went over the previous week to continue the training. We have recommended Grahame to our friends and colleagues.
My 14 month old bull breed was totally looney and out of control on walks until I contacted norwich dog training school, at 33kg I was struggling to even walk my dog down the street anymore as he would pull me everywhere and jump up on everyone he went past for attention, after one 1 to 1 lesson and following the advice given I can now walk my dog down the street on his lead, me being heavily pregnant and with my 19 month old daughter on reins!!!Amazing!! I had lost all hope for ozzy until I took him and I honestly cannot thank you enough for all the help and advice that is changing ozzys behaviour when on walks everyday :) x

Class size of six was perfect - enabled personal touch even though a class training session. It was fun, as well as informative.
Buzz loved it - he will be so disappointed next week, when there is no class! Biscuits and tea the finishing touch ;)
The course was highly enjoyable and allowed dogs of all abilities to flourish. Grahame and Sarah are fantastic. Excellent course, there is a clear difference in Moss's behaviour.
I rescued Hector as a starving, feral Algarvian puppy & he grew into 45kg of beautiful Anatolian Shepherd. He had so little confidence & was easily frightened. I came to see Grahame because Hector had a mind of his own & would regularly disappear off on walks. He also took against certain dogs and became ferocious (all show). Graham was so helpful & knowledgeable. He gave me many ideas on how to handle & train Hector & how to expose him carefully to more experiences so he'd become more sociable. Hector took to Graham immediately and I could see the potential of a different dog appearing before my very eyes. Pretty amazing actually. Graham has a great deal of experience & he showed me how to handle Hector through clear expectations which gave me confidence. I liked the positive ethos of the training & that it could be really good fun and rewarding for both of us. I found the 1:1 inspiring & would highly recommend Grahame's training.'
Enjoyed every minute, Bonnie improved so much, I will definitely carry on. Our dog improved so much, I would highly recommend - Learned so much useful information.
Odo started the course very nervous and unsure of himself. Although he has someway to go, he is a changed dog. Grahame teaches basic handling and then helps more. Odo is a changed dog!
I have a small (12 Kilo), four year old, Terrier Cross, called Buzz, who had done a fair bit of obedience training and could have been described a relatively well behaved. He did however, have a couple of issues when walking on his lead which was unexpected pulling/lunging when things took his interest and the other was walking near roads when certain traffic e.g. trailers, large lorries passed near.
I had read all the many helpful books/articles around and tried different approaches but without success and had more or less decided that surely no dog was perfect, and that this was as good as it would get. Then I saw an article about The Norwich Dog Training School and gave Grahame a call to see if he thought anything more could be done.
What a good decision that was as after a couple of 'one to one' sessions where, Grahame advised on a change of collar type and then explained how to 'communicate' more clearly and consistently with Buzz on what was required of him, walking has become a real pleasure! This means that Buzz gets to go more places as I don't have to avoid roads and also my worn knees are no longer painful, from being pulled and so we walk further. A real win-win for me and Buzz.
Thank you Grahame
Grahame was standing by the road waving to me as he promised! I wanted some good sound advice to help prevent a small bad habit of my dogs turning into a socialization nightmare. We spent sometime chatting and discussing the issues at hand before getting down to work. Grahame offered sound easy to put into practice ideas that Sammy (the dog) seemed to respond to very well. He worked both me and Sammy hard making us concentrate but it was all fun. Now we are 'doing our homework' and already I notice that I'm more relaxed about possible trigger situations and as such the results are good and getting better all the time. Cannot recommend NDTS highly enough. Thank you.
I found the course constructive and helpful. Jo in the past has had problems with other dogs, after being attacked several times as a puppy. The course has helped her a lot in this respect. Overall I enjoyed the course and Jo has more confidence and is now a joy to walk.

Grahame has given us a freedom and pleasure of walks with our Malinois. She could not hold her temper before that and we were loosing hope it may change or self confidence that we are able to have one at all.
As the first thing we received full explanation of what we should expect from the dog and what the dog needs from us, then Grahame told us about how we can solve our issues with her.
We used those advice and now it all has changed, we have an obedient dog on the walks, we are not afraid she will attack someone, or get killed under a car which she used to chase.
There is much more I could say about Grahame and his school but in short sentence that was great and very helpful experience and 1-2-1 session.
I am so grateful to Grahame for his help and support with Lola. The change in her has been massive and I can now walk her confidently, knowing that she won't attack other dogs. We have even signed up to a local flyball team. Thank you :)
Learnt a lot both Molly and myself in all areas of dog handling. Grahame is very calm and patient inhis training methods and this transmits to you as a handler enabling to achieve the results you want. You do need to put the work into your training but the support system in place encourages you to do this. I have had some 1 to 1 training in both obedience and ring craft and have info and tips to help us progress. Many thanks ,see you with all the crew soon for the next training session.
I was quite apprehensive to start with, but Grahame and Sarah were great at putting me at ease. Any question I had was answered and I didn't feel silly asking the 'little questions' :) The venue was great and it was good to do some training outside. The cups of tea were much appreciated.
I would recommend the course - excellent 10/10.
Came in and had the dog doing we wanted straight away. We have kept it up and the dog is much better at greeting people - as she used to be so excitable. We now introduce her in a calm manner and she is rewarded. Really helped! Thanks
I was at my wits end with my 2 yr old deaf jrt Poppy lunging and screaming growling at dogs any dog.
Grahame came along gave me lots of training tips and advice helped me boost my confidence while out and about with Poppy.
I`m pleased to say she is getting alot better not so reactive has the odd outburst but otherwise i have a happy dog and a happy me :-)
We have recently finished an eight week training course with our 4 month old working cocker spaniel 'Oakley'. A Big Thank You to Grahame and his wife Sarah for making it a fun and friendly environment to learn in.
We were really pleased and surprised at how well 'Oakley' picked things up and we will continue to practice and improve. My sons and I really enjoyed our training course. The class size was good and we had very good attention from Grahame.
Thanks Again.
I found the class very helpful and informative. The head trainer was very professional and his lovely wife made very good tea! I found the areas of training with other dogs present very helpful. Still working on the 'sit' but otherwise my dog is 100% improved.
A week ago I was ready to return my dog to the animal rescue.Taking him for a walk was a nightmare he would try to attack every dog he met,he was not much better with people.I made an appointment with Graham for training. We had 1 hour with Graham after that session I could see the difference with my dog.
The first walk on the beach I was certain I had taken a different dog,not one growl bark at any other dog.I walked him towards as many dogs as possible, not once did he have an adverse reaction.
I asked my wife to come with us to the beach, she could not believe the change in Bob.
I realise that not only my dog needed training I also needed to be told what I was doing wrong.
Thank you
Graham
I contacted Graham a few weeks ago as I was having some training problems with my lovely dog Chance. I am so pleased I did! Grahame immediately showed me how to get my dog's attention and improve his heelwork. Chance has some issues with his stays and recalls but Grahame is helping me to resolve them. Chance is so full of himself but he is now improving. Grahame is helping me to tap into his full potential. Grahame has a brilliant attitude - calm and encouraging and always finishing on a good note, which is so important. I feel more confident too. I highly recommend him.
I have been showing, breeding and training German Shepherd Dogs for more years than I care to remember. All of my dogs are totally different with regards to their drives, temperaments and levels of hardness - coming from English; German; show, working trials; police and Schutzhund lines. Grahame’s own dogs, past and present (although not German Shepherds) have carried these types of lines. His experience and training dogs in multi-discipline roles over many years, gives him a special flexibility and adaptability when it comes to dog training. Grahame has helped me to train my dogs for beauty competition, working trials and Schutzhund – his approach and personality, makes training fun and easy to understand
Although I had met Grahame in the past, when exercising my old dog, I hadn't realised that he was a dog trainer.
Last summer I met up with him by chance, whilst struggling to control my 'dog to dog' aggressive four year old rescue German Shepherd. At the time Sam was intent on attacking a passing dog, when Graham took the lead and immediately brought Sam under control. He instantly gained Sam's respect with his calm, but no nonsense approach to his behaviour. From then on Sam and I have gone from strength to strength under Grahame's guidance and Sam has improved in leaps and bounds. Grahame has shown how I need to take charge and his encouragement when I get disheartened when things don't always go well, has proved invaluable.
I can't recommend Grahame highly enough, he is an effective and well qualified trainer.
'Billy was rescued and came to us with a few issues around other dogs - we'd heard about Grahame locally and contacted him for help.
Grahame helped us to gain control over Billy around other dogs, and he improved so much that we can even let him off the lead to go swimming with dogs that he knows and trusts. Once we started training, we realised that there was so much more that Billy could do, and trained him in obedience, tracking, agility and protection work (as sadly there are some bad people out there, and its no good having a dog and barking yourself, if anyone suspicious comes to your door). We've had so much fun with Billy, and thanks to Grahame we wouldn't swap him for the World'.
I contacted Grahame in desperation after several dog trainers had failed to help me overcome the aggressions issues I was having with my German Shepherd. These trainers were expensive and had little knowledge (or confidence) as to how I should train my dog. Consequently I made no progress with her training.
I wanted help to train my dog to be under control when around people and other dogs, and needed to overcome these issues before I could purse my ambitions to take my training further - as I would ideally like to train my dog for future employment within the security industry and in the sport of Schutzhund.
Unlike the other trainers, Grahame was confident around my dog, his experience of training and working with powerful working dogs was immediately apparent. He showed me training methods to quickly get control over my dog - and gave me homework to practice to speed up the learning process. I am very pleased to say that she is now safe around people, and enjoys the attention she’s now getting. I now have good control of her around other dogs too.
While I have a long way to travel to see Grahame - it is money well spent - my dog has improved so much I hardly recognise her now. Suffice to say, I am now bitten by the bug and regularly train with Grahame who is helping me to train my dog in obedience, tracking, agility and much much more - as I now work towards my goals. Big thanks Grahame - I couldn’t have done it without you.
Interestingly, I bumped into Grahame in Attleborough one day and we got talking about security dogs. I soon realised that we had a lot in common, and have become great friends. Grahame like myself is a highly qualified security professional - he’s studied at University and researched security dogs. Grahame regularly uses some of this knowledge with the techniques he trains for security dogs.
Since training with Grahame, he has coached me in how to train my dogs from being very mediocre - to becoming some of the best security dogs in the UK. My dogs have competed and qualified in security trails and in IPO, and my youngest ‘boy’ has a growing reputation with the helpers who have been on his sharp end. Real criminals just don’t want to mess with him - and yet Grahame has taught me how to ‘switch him off and on’ – like so many of the dogs which Grahame has helped to train. When he’s off duty, he safe and friendly with everyone he meets. But when needs must, I can just switch him on to become a very formidable security tool.
The scenario training days or ‘manhunt’ training as Grahame likes to joke are great fun, but have a very serious side to them for security dogs and their handlers - they provide the opportunity to practice and train for real world situations. Thanks for your help bud.
About three years ago, Grahame came to the dog training club where I trained and gave a demonstration of obedience and security training. I was really impressed with the attention his dog showed, the joy he exhibited when working and the control he had over his dog during the protection demonstration - and especially how good his dog was around people and other dogs. I was most surprised, as I had always thought that dogs trained for protection work needed to be vicious. How wrong I was.
Since this time, my old dog sadly passed away, and was duly replaced by a new but very boisterous one. I continued going to my usual dog training classes, but as my dog matured she became very challenging, especially around people. I was recommended by a friend that I should see a particular dog trainer to help address these issues which I duly did. Sadly, this was simply good money thrown away, and I made no progress. I was beginning to feel very desperate, and was starting to think that this dog was not for me and could end in a one way trip to the vet. I then thought back to the demonstration I had seen some two years earlier and duly contacted Grahame.
Grahame immediately impressed me with the confidence he had around my dog, and showed me how to train her with techniques I hadn’t seen before. I have learned that my dog has a fast mind, and needs to be kept occupied and given a channel for her energy. I have been training with Grahame for a little while now and must confess that I have got bitten by the bug. The control I now have is 95%+ better - I enjoy training my dog, and she’s showing excellent potential. Rather than simply settling for basic dog club training, we now have much higher aspirations. My dog tracks, jumps hurdles and ‘A’ frames and much more. I’m now just beginning to see what we can really achieve together. It’s a new World – thanks Grahame see you soon.
We first met Grahame in 2009 when we were looking for a local Schzhund club, from our very first introductory telephone call we knew we had found the right person to help us. Upon speaking to Grahame we found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful, we could not wait to go along to his dog training club and upon arrival at his club we were not disappointed.
At the time we had a young GSD who had come to us as at 11 months of age. Prior to coming to us she had had little or no interaction with other dogs and people and was a “typical teenager” full of herself but with no confidence, nervous aggressive with a high prey drive and no respect.
Grahame was particularly helpful and supportive spending time both at his dog training club and on one to one basis with us to help improve our dog’s behaviour around people, dogs and other animals.
At all times we found Grahame to be patient, positive and considerate to our dog, never resorting to heavy handed tactics to get the desired behaviour.
Our dog is now a joy to have around, she is exercised daily and has lots of friends both animal and human. She can still be nervous around people that she doesn’t know but we can let her off the lead with confidence knowing that she will recall quickly and that she knows how to behave.
We would not hesitate to recommend Grahame to anyone who requires the assistance of a professional and kind dog trainer.
I have been training with Grahame for a number of years now, he’s helped me to train my Dobermanns to reach the highest level of protection dog training for both security work and sports training – Schutzhund. My dog ‘ULF’ was the very first male Dobermann that was bred, trained and trialled in the UK and qualified Schutzhund III besides qualifying two years running for the Dobermann World Working Championships, and with that I am going to Grahame for foundation training to achieve the same level with my two current Dobermanns. If there is one key quality that separates Grahame’s approach to dog training from many other trainers – is that his ‘one size doesn’t fit all approach’. He adapts his training style and techniques to fit both the dog and the handler’s capabilities and uses his experience to explore new ways to overcome training issues. I am changing my training philosophy to be based purely on positive reinforcement only. Thanks Pal for all your help - keep up the good work.
One day I drove past a field and saw Grahame working his dog, I was interested in what he was doing and got chatting. I had previously done some agility training and competition with my Labradoodle and was interested in learning more, and further developing my dog’s working abilities. Since training with Grahame, I have learned so much, I have explored new ways and types of training. My dog’s abilities are now so much more rounded, she doesn’t just do agility - she tracks, does obedience and can do many of the elements of working trials and Schutzhund. Thanks Grahame for all your help, and for the many new friends that I have made.
